Characters
Find out who the main characters are in the screenplay for Going Underground
Ricky Newman
Ricky still likes to think he is 21 and needs no encouragement to partake in what the young ones suggest.

He is the one who leads his friends to journey back in time and when it requires leadership he will steer the ship.
Peter Wright
He is a little bit more reserved and looks for reassurance from the others.

"Woah" is his favourite line when anything seems extreme.

Unlike Ricky, smoking a joint isn't what it used to be but he's willing to make the effort so as not to appear like a wimp.
There is an element of the sophisticated about him as he often comments on the quality of the alcohol he is presented with.

Danny Allbright
Danny warms to their adventure as he begins to reminisce the 'good old days', and, like Ricky, he enjoys reliving the experiences of his youth.

When asked if there is any advice he can offer his younger counterpart, he is mature enough to suggest his young self needs to discover life himself and not get any leads from the older generation.

It is revealed that the older Danny is an accountant, suggesting his life has plateaued.

Buddy
Buddy is truly the seer of the group, much to the admiration of the others, but the dog in him can let the perception down, especially when bodily functions are acted upon.

He is full of quips and one-liners while in one moment he can roll his puppy eyes and the next reveal the animal in him.
Baba Fatt
This Shakespearean leader of the bikers is like a cross between Macbeth and Lord Eddard Snark as he rules over his gang from his throne in the flat where he lives, but for all his rage and anger, he is fallible when his landlady Mrs Tillyworth reprimands him.

The toy panda, that becomes the focus of the story, holds strong sentimental value to him which becomes almost as important as the jewels.
Baba Grunt
Baba Fatt's right-hand man is as thick as they come, but he is dedicated to his leader.

Despite his best efforts, the biker fails at every turn, much to the frustration of his boss.
Baba Noob
This biker is actually an undercover policeman sent to infiltrate the gang.

He stands out like a sore thumb amongst the gang with his clean-cut looks and his high-viz jacket, but the bikers are too stupid to even realize this.

Most of his time is spent in the toilet trying to communicate with HQ but he is dedicated to the job and keen to see it through.
Baba Chef
An army cannot march on an empty stomach and Baba Chef is the cuisine king who is on hand to feed the gang with his vegetarian recipes.

Like the others, he is more brawn than brain but a reliable soldier when it comes to catching the time travellers.
Dame Conceitayda Lott
The instigator of the jewel heist, the evil Dame Conceitayda is not to be trifled with as she puts the fear of god into Baba Fatt.

With her black mynah bird (with his off-the-cuff comments) she is cunning and devious as she lords over her cache of stolen paintings and antiquarian objects from her gothic residence called Rockville.
Young Ones
Young Ricky, Young Danny and Young Peter as the unassuming 21-year-olds who are visited by their aging selves.

Full of the zest for life, they like to party, take drugs and dance the night away.

For some, seeing themselves older leaves them with slight disappointment but they are welcoming and friendly with their hearts in the right place.
The Girlfriends
Beth, Angel and Eloise really are the ones in the relationships with their feet firmly on the ground.

Where the boys live in a dishevelled apartment, the girls are more organised and astute.

When the chips are down, it is they who can be relied upon to fix the chaotic situation their male counterparts find themselves in.
The Skinheads
Neighbours, Julius Featheringham and Imelia Middleton may have a hard exterior, but these middle class skinheads speak with an educated accent and complain about the level of noise by their neighbours.

There is a sneaky streak to their character revealed when they pay a visit to Baba Fatt.
